Live Fire Training

The flames from a developing fire spread across the inside of a container.

Essex Fire Training is devoted to the training of firefighters in the specialist skill of Compartment Fire Behaviour Training or CFBT. Like the name suggests, CFBT is devoted to learning about how to control the environment within which firefighters will be expected to work in, rather than directly putting the fire out.

Some could say that Compartment Fire Behaviour Training is not new as it has been around in Europe for some considerable time. To a certain extent, this is true. Where Essex Fire Training differs is that it has a core of dedicated training instructors that, when not working for the students, are continually developing their professional knowledge and skills of an ever expanding subject. Fire instructors talking about trainingIt is this very dedication to personal development which gives rise to improved tactics and techniques. Ultimately, this improves the safety and quality of firefighters and student instructors which participate on our courses.

The courses that we provide at our specialist training facility are designed for all firefighters in whatever capacity in which they serve. The courses are practical based and very "hands on" whether at a wearer level or an instructor level. Additionally, our courses are accredited at BTEC level 3 as we are an approved training body.
